Built as part of the Oxford Castle redevelopment project, The Living Room offers a sophisticated retreat for those visiting the city centre. This chic piano bar (on Thursday to Sunday, a resident pianist tinkles the ivories on the bar’s centrepiece, a baby grand) offers a refined range of food and drink in a large, spacious dining area.
Those familiar with The Living Room style of dining won’t be surprised to find the menu here is varied and full of favourites. There are light bites and a choice of sharing platters, as well as beautifully prepared starters. The main-course menu offers a superb blend of dishes; the likes of the seared guinea fowl breast on fondant potato or beef and ale pie with chips showcase the mix of classical and contemporary dishes on any of their seasonal menus.
Along with the bar and restaurant areas, the building also boasts a patio, which is ideally placed to offer outdoor diners and drinkers a view of the castle entrance. Also, to make your experience at The Living Room that extra bit special, more outdoor seating can be found on a roof terrace, which offers an astounding view of Oxford.
The atmosphere at The Living Room is uniquely chilled and the food and drink consistently exceptional. Also on late night weekends a DJ takes over until 2am entertaining a full and vibrant Bar. Arrive early to avoid queues’!! It goes without saying it’s all a welcome addition to Oxford’s exciting dynamic scene.
